My clients come to me, in the main, for functional strength training which revolves around core strength and work with weights. So rather than bodybuilding, think the kind of weight training which will be relevant to your everyday life. That may be to enable you to keep up with the kids or grandkids, being able to use the stairs rather than needing the lift, or just to undo the damage caused by all those hours of sitting at a desk. Strength declines as we get older, so we are more prone to falls or injury. Functional strength training helps reverse this process and means we can accomplish more. And it helps with our weight management, which is a bonus. This is backed up by many reputable organizations.
So now you have the information, why do you need me? Good question. The problem is, although you know you should develop your core strength and lift some weights, you don’t know where to begin. So, you lack the confidence to do it, viewing the weights area of the gym with nervous trepidation. Or you feel you might get injured, so you need guidance on form and exercise selection. Obviously the online world is full of information you can research. But how do you know what is good advice and what isn't? This is where I come in. I've been successfully working as a PT for 14 years, In the world of fitness and training, I know how to separate fact from fiction.
I’ve been training people just like you for 14 years. They’ve all had the same fears and worries, and I have helped everyone to overcome them. With so much practical experience, I can guide, instruct and encourage you. I’ll do the exercise selection for you, make sure your form is good and ensure you’re lifting at the right intensity. You don’t need each PT session to kill you for results, the weights just need to be at the appropriate intensity for you. The training philosophy is to stimulate the muscles, not annihilate them. Even the newest PT can deliver a session that makes you think your life is over. There's no skill in that: its just showing off. What takes skill and experience is delivering the right session to the right client at the right time.
And there are no fears about what others in the gym think of you. For each session, its just you and me in the studio, 1-2-1. Which also means no waiting around for equipment, its all here for you.
In addition, I get to know each of my clients. A record of each workout is kept so I don’t have to guess what works best for you, it’s all written down. And as the professional relationship between client and trainer grows, people like you feel comfortable leaving the thinking and planning to me. Clients have said that for the hour they are with me, its so nice to have someone else in charge.
There are so many benefits to weight training. Those benefits can be yours too, with me to plan, guide and deliver your exercise programme in a private studio where you can get the most from every session.
