Helping Your Talented Child (min age 13)

When I started out I never intended to work with young athletes. But then some of my adult clients started asking if I could work with their children who were showing promise and wanted to improve. I agreed and since then I have built up a great deal of experience working 1-2-1 with talented young athletes. These have included cyclists, runners and wheelchair basketball players.

As the S&C coach to talented youth, my role is to improve their overall conditioning so they are better able to complete the sessions set out by their sports specific coach.

So when young people set out to develop their athlete abilities there are three distinct phases:    

  1. Train to train
  2. Train to compete
  3. Train to win

So I assess where they are on this continuum and work closely with them to help them realise their potential.
